OUR HISTORY SINCE 1888 AND Who we are TODAY
Our firm was founded in 1888 by Amand Ritter as one of the very first patent law firms in Switzerland. Ten years later, in 1898, Amand Braun joined the practice of his uncle, Amand Ritter. He headed the firm from 1921 until he passed away in 1943. At that time, the firm was taken over by André Braun Sr.
Taking advantage of the industrial development of the Basel area, the firm continuously developed and got domiciled in the centre of Basel. In 1980, the legal form of the firm was changed to a joint-stock company, A. Braun Braun Héritier Eschmann AG, today known as BOHEST AG. In 2008, the Branch Ostschweiz Office was established in Buchs (SG) to better serve the needs of the clients located in this area.
We are one of the leading IP firms in Switzerland and advise a large number of domestic and international clients in all matters of intellectual property, in particular patents, trade marks, designs and licences.
Our staff comprises about 20 people – including patent attorneys, lawyers and administrative professionals with in-depth professional expertise and a very good command of German, English, French and other languages.
